Attempted ATM Theft Overnight

Hingham, MA – Two men are being sought following an attempted ATM theft overnight. The suspects drove away as Officers arrived. Following a short pursuit, they abandoned their vehicle behind a house and ran.

On July 28, 2023 at 3:43am Officers were sent to the Bank of America at 95 Sgt. William B. Terry Drive for a report that two men were attempting to break into the drive-up ATM. The report from the alarm company said a chain attached to an SUV had been placed around the ATM. As Officers arrived the men jumped into the SUV and drove onto Route 3A heading east. After a short pursuit, the SUV drove into the Bradley Park neighborhood. The SUV drove behind a home on Bradley Park Drive and the two men ran.

K9 units from the Weymouth Police and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department helped search the area but the men were not located.

The ATM was damaged but no cash was taken. If you have any information about this incident or about the SUV, a white 2007 Cadillac Escalade, please contact Detective Michael Gervasi at 781-804-2238. This remain under investigation.
