Update on Fatal Crash Involving Motorcycle and SUV

Hingham, MA – No charges are being filed in a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.  

On Monday, September 4, 2023 at 4:50pm Officers responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Beal St. near the intersection of North St. and West St. The motorcyclist was transported to South Shore Hospital but did not survive. The driver and passenger in the SUV were not injured. 

Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle had been traveling north on Beal St. and drove off right side of the road into a utility pole near 335 North St. The motorcycle then reentered the road, crossed over the center line, and struck the driver’s side of the southbound SUV on Beal St. 

The motorcyclist is Alfredo Aureliz Galarza, age 32, of Weymouth, MA. No charges are being filed against the driver of the SUV. 

The crash is being investigated by Hingham Police, State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and State Troopers from the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. ### Contact P.I.O. Lt. Steven Dearth
