On Thursday June 13, 2024 Hingham Police were made aware of an incident that occurred at the Bathing Beach. Two juveniles reported that a man had approached them and asked that they perform a sexual act. Through the course of an investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect.
An arrest warrant was obtained and on June 18, 2024 the suspect was placed under arrest. Arrested was Benjamin Hirtle, age 27, no current home address. Hirtle was charged with two counts: Entice child under 16. Hirtle was booked at the Hingham Police station and arraigned at Hingham District Court on June 18, 2024.
