House Break and Car Stolen from Summer Street Home

Police are investigating a house break on Summer Street in which the residents car was stolen and a stolen car was left in the driveway.

On Tuesday morning, August 29, 2017, Officers were sent to check a home on Summer Street at the request of the Canton Police. The Canton Police located a car in Canton belonging to the Summer Street resident that appeared to contain stolen property.

Hingham Officers found the home had been broken into and a car left in the driveway. The car, a 2006 BMW X3, had been previously been reported stolen from Boston.

The home, located in the 200 block, had been broken into by smashing a side window. Numerous items such as electronics and jewelry, were taken from the home. The car found in Canton was stolen from the driveway. The residents had not been home during the break.     

The house break took place sometime between Saturday night and Tuesday morning. Detectives are working with several other communities to identify a suspect(s). If you have any information, please contact Detective Philip Tracey at 781-741-1443. ### P.I.O. Sgt. Steven Dearth
