Notice of Traffic Delays/Lane Restrictions on Rte. 3A from Town of Hingham 

The Town of Hingham is providing notice of a change in traffic management within Rte. 3A beginning at the intersection of Broad Cove Road, Lincoln Street, Downer Avenue and Thaxter Street, continuing within Lincoln Street to the intersection of Fottler Road and Bradley Woods Drive. This change is effective April 22-25, 2025:

It will be necessary to remove 2 lanes from the traveled way to provide a safe work zone to conduct the work. The lane restriction will be active from 7AM until 5PM. This will result in significant delays, especially during rush hour. One lane of traffic will be maintained for travel in each direction.

The Town appreciates your patience as we work to improve this public infrastructure. It is important to note that the reduction in traffic capacity during rush hour will significantly improve the pace of work, allowing it to be completed in 4 months or less, instead of 6 or more months of construction under time restricted work conditions. In order to minimize impacts, the Town is working with our contractor on alternative construction methods for certain segments of the work. The Town will also be actively monitoring traffic conditions & updating our traffic plans with Waze.com to provide the public information on road conditions.
