One Arrested After Numerous Unlocked Cars Entered Overnight

Hingham, MA – Officers responded to a report of two males breaking into a cars in a driveway overnight. Officers deployed a drone and located the males and one was arrested. Officers found approximately 60 cars had been entered in the neighborhood. All the cars had been left unlocked. 

On October 3, 2025 at 12:48am a resident of Pilgrim Road (Liberty Pole neighborhood) called after seeing two men breaking into their cars in the driveway. Several Officers with assistance from Norwell Police and a Hingham K9, set up a perimeter as a Drone Unit Officer launched a drone. The drone located two suspects on another street. As Officers neared, they ran, one was arrested and Officers continued searching for the second male who was not found. 

All of the cars had been unlocked. Some cars were rummaged through with nothing taken. Items that were taken include a laptop, house keys, car fob keys, coins and cash. An electric scooter was also taken from a driveway. 

Arrested was a 17 year old juvenile from Holbrook, MA. His name is not being released because of his age. His charges include several counts Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle, Disturbing the Peace and Conspiracy. He was released to his parents to be arraigned at Hingham Juvenile Court at a future date. This remains under investigation. ### P.I.O. Lt. Steven Dearth
