Hingham, MA – A traffic stop for speeding resulted in the driver being arrested for drug charges and cash seized.
On Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2:14pm Traffic Officer Scott Tracey was monitoring traffic on Broad Cove Road (Route 3A) when he stopped a 2008 Nissan Altima for speeding. He found that the driver had an outstanding warrant and placed the driver under arrest.
Officers discovered a baggie in his pocket which contained nine smaller plastic corner bags filled with brownish powder believed to be heroin. He had a small amount of cash in the same pocket. In the center console was $1,200 in cash and 198 tablets of suspected steroids. An additional $1,435 in cash was found in his wallet.
Arrested was Luis M. Caba, age 33, of 10 Bird Street, Apt. #3, Dorchester, MA. He was charged with:1) Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute (Heroin) 2) Possession of a Class E Substance (Steroids). The arrest warrant was for Driving for a Suspended License issued from Dorchester District Court. After booking, he was released after posting $500 cash bail, for arraignment at Hingham District Court on February 10.
