[ARCHIVED] Jet Dock Installation at Hingham Town Landing

Pursuant to Executive Order 11988 (Floodplain Management) and Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) implementing regulations at Title 44 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 9, FEMA hereby provides final notice of its decision to provide Emergency Management Performance Grant program funding for an action located in a Special Flood Hazard Area. Funding would be provided to the Town of Hingham, Massachusetts.

The proposed action includes the installation and maintenance of a new Jet Dock Performance Dock system at the existing Hingham Town Landing, within the Coastal High Hazard Area, CHHA (Velocity Zone), delineated in 2012. The action would attach the proposed 25-foot-long Performance Dock system to the existing Hingham Town Landing float system for the purpose of docking and preserving a Hingham Harbormaster patrol vessel. Existing equipment, on the pre-existing dock system, may be upgraded or repaired to ensure the mission readiness of the new Performance Dock system. The Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) map is available upon request.

Despite the CHHA location, there are no anticipated adverse effects to the floodplain. The proposed floating dock system will not affect the base flood elevation or floodplain/wetland values. The project would enhance current security capabilities and allow for strategical upgrades for safe monitoring of Hingham Harbor.

Map requests and comments about this project and potential floodplain impacts must be submitted within 15 days of the date of this publication to:
