[ARCHIVED] K9 Tracks Woman Who Broke Into Occupied Home

Hingham, MA – A 36 year old Quincy woman was arrested for breaking into an occupied home Friday. The resident confronted the woman in the house and she left taking items from the house with her. A police K9 tracked the woman hiding in bushes on a nearby street.

On Friday, September 6, 2019 at 12:12am a Middle Street resident reported they heard a noise downstairs in their house and discovered a woman inside their home. The woman was wearing several jackets belonging to the resident and carrying a bag. The resident believed the woman was under the influence of drugs. The resident told her to leave and the woman walked out carrying the bag and while still wearing the residents’ jackets. Several Officers, including K9 Officer Ryan Ross and his partner K9 Pedy, arrived. K9 Pedy began tracking the woman and located her laying down in a group of bushes near a home on School Street. She was taken into custody without incident.

On the ground near the woman were several jackets, a bag, various food items, a pair of sneakers, and a car key fob all belonging the residents of the Middle Street home. The home had been unlocked. The woman appeared to have no prior connection to the residents or to the home.

Arrested was Lindsey Tyler Hurld, age 36, of 132 South Main Street Apt. #2, Quincy, MA. She was charged with: 1) Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime for a Felony 2) Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200 3) Disturbing the Peace. She was held without bail overnight and arraigned at Hingham District Court on September 6. ### Contact P.I.O. Sgt. Steven Dearth
